Akleja breakfast tray 20x27 cm

Watercolor by Signe Carlgren (married Lindquist) who was born in 1897 in Lövånger. It was originally a sketch for her porcelain paintings, an art form she devoted herself to for many years. Now her sketches are lifted out of the chest of drawers after several decades of dormancy.

Signe was inspired, for this particular tray, by illustrations by Maria Sibylla Merian (1647-1717). Botanical illustration is a genre that is often traded from publishers that go back a long way.

To date, the tray has only been printed in 25 copies.
